Dublin Community Television Volunteer Call Out

Dublin Community Television has been working hard on supporting members to develop their own programme ideas over the last few months which has resulted in more volunteer shows running on the station than on any other TV broadcaster in the country.

As more programmes get in to production we need more people to get involved, learn how to produce television and share their skills with a like minded crew. In order to facilitate this we are offering you to come and meet some of the producers that are recruiting for their
new programmes. These productions are on a variety of subjects, including sports, music, current affairs, art and more.

If you would like to get involved in making community television come along to the Ireland Institute on Friday 24th of May at 3.30pm to get involved.

DCTV Studio Operator Course now booking for 2013

Each Wednesday afternoon, DCTV runs a studio operator training course which is free to paid up members of the station.

We have been running the course throughout the year and members that have completed it have gone on to become actively involved in our ongoing volunteer production Citywide, as well as creating their own studio productions like The Live Register and Bump TV.

The course requires no previous experience and is a great taster for
groups and individuals who want to actively get involved in making
community television.

The course shows the basic operation of the studio and offers the
opportunity for participants to make a short video piece.
The studio has a fully digital workflow including three remote control
cameras, vision and audio mixers and the ability to broadcast live on cable and the internet.

We are now accepting bookings for places on our courses in 2013.

Tuesdays on DCTV – Bosco Talks, DoleTV, The Live Register & Democracy now

Dole TV // Season 4 // Promo from DCTV on Vimeo.

Who says no-one is making good telly in Ireland? DCTV is really proud of our new Tuesday evening line up, not least because we’ve decided to bundle a whole load of new programmes our members have been making together.

At 6 pm Bosco Talks airs a pilot of the new series. An all new group from the St John Bosco centre bring everything thats happening in Drimnagh and further afield. Watch out for the full new season, the third series, coming on Tuesdays in the New year.

At 9pm Dole TV returns for the fourth and what we’ve been promised is the final series. Great new comedy, some fine interviews and the usual mix of surprises and animations every week between now and Christmas. Tell everybody you know its back and get to a TV so you can see it first before everybody shares it on fakebook.

Then 9.30 pm The Live Register continues its strong first season this time looking at Social Housing. After their great start looking at Fracking and Abortion, the show doesn’t flinch from the real issues.

Finally 10 pm Democracy Now will screen – our nightly show from New York City where Amy Goodman delivers the nights news.

Tuesdays on DCTV – where you find out whats really happening.
