Membership of DCTV
Dublin Community Television (DCTV) is formally registered with the Registrar of Friendly Societies as a membership co-operative. Each member holds a (voting) share and collectively the members own and run the station. Every year audited accounts are filed and an AGM is held where all shareholders (members) elect a committee of management to run their station.
According to the Rules of the Co-operative, there is an annual membership fee which is currently set at:
Founding (once off): €200-€500
Organisation:: €75
Individual: €25
Unwaged: €15
Members must support the aims of the co-operative and agree with the core principles of empowerment, diversity and participation. A good explanation of these can be found in our induction pack which gives some depth to aims and ethos of DCTV.
Membership of DCTV requires two existing members to propose and second you and is confirmed at the management committee meeting following receipt of a correctly completed – application form sent in to us at DCTV, GEC, Taylors Lane, Dublin 8.
Members of the station are invited to join the members@dctv.ie mailing list, can propose programmes to DCTV and avail of training and equipment as it becomes available as well as their AGM responsibilities There are currently c. 250 members of DCTV.
